How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?
A lash lift typically lasts six to eight weeks, though this varies depending on your natural lash growth cycle. As your lashes naturally shed and grow, the lift gradually relaxes.
A tint fades more quickly — usually three to five weeks — as the lashes are exposed to water, sun, and cleansing. In Bali, where you’re likely swimming and spending time outdoors daily, expect results closer to the shorter end of that range.
Is a Lash Lift Better Than Lash Extensions in Bali?
For most people visiting Bali, yes — and here’s why.
Lash extensions require maintenance appointments every two to three weeks as natural lashes shed. They’re also more sensitive to water, oil, and heat — all things that are difficult to avoid in Bali. Salt water, pool chemicals, and sunscreen can all shorten the lifespan of extensions and cause premature shedding.
A lash lift requires no maintenance during your stay. Once it’s done, you can swim, sweat, and sleep without giving it a second thought. It works with your natural lashes rather than adding to them, so there’s no risk of damage from the weight of extensions or adhesive.
That said, if you want significant volume or length beyond what your natural lashes provide, extensions deliver results a lift can’t. The right choice depends on what you’re looking for.
Before & After Your Lash Lift
Before your appointment:
- Come with clean lashes — no mascara, eye makeup, or oily products on or around the eyes
- Avoid waterproof mascara in the 48 hours prior
- Remove contact lenses before your treatment
After your treatment:
- Keep lashes dry for the first 24 hours — no swimming, steaming, or eye washing
- Avoid rubbing your eyes
- Use a lash serum or conditioning oil after the 24-hour period to maintain results
- Sleep on your back if possible for the first night to preserve the curl shape

Does a lash lift hurt? No. You lie with your eyes closed throughout the treatment. Most guests find it completely relaxing.
Can I get a lash lift if I wear glasses or contact lenses? Yes to glasses. Contact lenses should be removed before the treatment and can be reinserted once the treatment is complete.
Is a lash lift suitable for short lashes? A lash lift works best with lashes that have at least a few millimetres of length. Very short lashes may not hold the curl as well. Our therapists will assess your lashes before the treatment and let you know if a lift is suitable.
Can I wear mascara after a lash lift? Yes — after the 24-hour aftercare period, you can wear mascara as normal. Many people find they don’t need it at all after a lift and tint.
